You may be wondering, "Why is he doing this?" On April 8, 2001, I gave my
life to Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Immediately I began telling those
in my family and people at grocery stores and gas stations about Jesus. For two
years I went street-witnessing multiple times throughout each week. During the
next two years I worked 40-50 hrs. Per week, sometimes more, witnessing and
serving my church and elsewhere on the side. However, there were many times
on the way home or to work when I saw someone sitting on a bench, or walking
on the sidewalk, and they looked like they were crying, depressed, angry, or
lonely. I then, being pressed for time, would say a prayer for them to be
comforted, saved, or healed. Many times, while praying for these people, the
Lord would put this thought in my mind: "You go and comfort them, share the
Good News about Me with them and love them."Also, there were times I would
be driving and stop at a red light, then I'd look over at the car beside me and
think to myself, 'there is some-one who has a dream, hurts and joys, friends and
family; a past, a present and a future, but when this light turns green I will most
likely never get to meet or know them." What about the greeters in the market
places, the cashiers, the neighbors who live next to you, or your barber! What
about those at work every day whom we ask over our shoulder, as we're passing
by, "How are you?" and we hear them reply, "good?" How many times will we
pass someone by in a week, a month, a year--in our lifetime--without telling them
with a true, sincere smile "Jesus loves you?" July 17-27, 2007: I decided I
needed to leave work and my home-town to spend 10 days seeking God with
prayer, fasting and reading His Word. Three days after completing the tenth day,
I was on an airplane making my way back to Tulsa Oklahoma from Ellicott City
Maryland and I was led to read the book of Acts.
So I started at the beginning but it was during chapter eight that I became
inspired with the idea of leaving work, home, and everything I was doing to go
witnessing for one year. I saw how the Spirit guided Philip and I saw once again
how the early church lived. I always knew since I met the Lord that I was called to
live like they lived. Selling everything they didn’t need to help the church, traveling
from house to house praying and breaking bread. They were totally committed to
Christ and His mission. I always knew that everything the world is chasing after;
such as rising to the top in every facet of life. In money, in power, in riches, in
fame, in status. It’s all futile-coming to nothing. As Solomon said it is vanity and
grasping for the wind. He also said, “One king is defeated and another king
conquers, but what will the king who conquered do that the other hasn’t already
done?” My life is a vapor; it is like the flower of the grass; it is like the sun that
rises; so if I really believe in eternity and how short life is, then I will be totally
committed to Christ and His mission. I knew after two days that the idea was truly
from Him. Five days later I spoke to, and sought counsel from, my pastor and he
said, "I think you should carry a cross." I prayed again, felt peace in my spirit
about it, and the Lord showed me that it was His plan for me at this moment in
my life. As I've journeyed, many have asked me "Why are you doing this?" or,
"What is your purpose?" I have answered in many different ways, such as,
“Because Jesus died for my sins and ransomed me from hell,” but the main one
is found in Matthew 24:12, "And because evil will increase, the love of many will
grow cold." Every day people everywhere are suffering from neglect, loneliness,
rejection, and abuse. This pain makes it difficult for them to love others. God
wants us to be happy and enjoy life, while we seek to serve Him, but it is
impossible without truly loving people. I read a sign one day that said, "Love as
though you've never been hurt before." That is probably everyone's desire. So
the Lord put this in my heart to carry this cross, and share His love with the world.

Don and Gary, they

Here is Nancy. She
drove past me about
two miles in Stafford,

something made her
come back to talk to
me. She told me of a
struggle that her
daughter had and I
told her about mine
and how my mom
stuck by my side and
kept believing,
praying, and loving
me, then we prayed
and her soul was filled
with hope, you can see
it in her eyes.
