| CARRYING THE CROSS |
Hi, my name is David and I am carrying a cross throughout the U.S. right
now till 9/9/08, then into all the world. A lady named Gloria, from Richmond,
Va. saw me walking with the cross and did a short interview as I was talking
with a really sweet man. The title begins "One God, One Cross..." Please

John 18:4 "Jesus, knowing all the things that would come upon Him, went forward..."!
Is there anything keeping you from going forward with God's plan for your life? For me,
I was a slave to fear; fear of what other people thought about me, whether they liked me
or didn't like me. I had fear of being embarrassed, of lack, of missing the mark.
II Corinthians 5:14-15 says "For the love of Christ compels us." What is compelling you?
Fear or love? The Hebrew word 'halal', from which the word 'hallelujah' is derived, is a
praise word meaning "to make a fool of one's self". I Corinthians 4:10 declares "we are
fools for Christ's sake." Have you allowed yourself to become a fool for Christ?
Romans 1:16 says "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!" Are you ashamed?
Of yourself, of Jesus, of letting people know you're a Christian? You are the apple of
God's eye. (read John 3:16) You and God together are a majority! (Matthew 19:26) Will
you pour yourself out so that many others whom God also loves will come to know Him?
I am on a one-year journey by foot, walking throughout the United States' east coast,
carrying a 12-ft. long by 6-ft. wide cross, made out of 4X4s, seeking to bring salvation
to those who are lost. I have prayed with thousands of people on highway one, staying
with some I've met along the way for short periods of time. God has daily been revealing
to me that He is truly my Shelter and my Provision.

such an honor to speak to them.

I have traveled through MD, D.C., VA, NC, SC, GA, to St. Augustine, Florida. I have
been very blessed to be able to pray with thousands of people who stop me along the
way. Some pull over right away, some drive past me, but later come back looking for
me and still others, many days later see me in the city where they live, stop me and then
talk to me.
I have spoken at several churches, Bible studies and Sunday School classes. People
with whom I've stayed have asked me to lead their family devotions. I have spoken at
car dealerships, Christian schools, before youth groups and a school soccer team,
basketball team, and a Public High School! Also to groups of workers along-side of the
road and I've prayed with firefighters and witnessed to police officers. And to many
other businesses as well. (See pictures page)
Many people so far, from children to teenagers to adults have accepted Jesus Christ as
Lord and Savior, praise God! Many bound souls have been set free from various types
of fear and have become encouraged and challenged. A few people, however, have
angrily confronted me. One person pushed me 3-4 feet backwards. Still, others have
come up to me crying and full of joy, but most have been full of excitement and
enthusiasm.
I didn't realize when I began that many of the people God would bring into my path to
minister to would be hurting Christians who'd either lost their way, had backslidden or
were on the verge of losing hope. Each and every day I've carried the cross I have been
invited to stay with people I meet. I am walking with God alone on this journey and all I
have with me is a few clothes, journals to write in, a little water, a small first-aid kit, a
small amount of other necessities, and my cross.
Currently I am...
in Saluda, SC. I was led to end my journey with a fast. I will be fasting from
08/15/08-09/23/08. I may not have my phone on during that time as well as no internet
access. Please pray God blesses all who help me on my journey, and please pray for me.
Grace and peace and the love of God be multiplied to you, in Jesus' name Amen.
I have walked approx. 900-930 miles. I have on now over 40 journey's planned in the
U.S. and contact's in probably over 90 nations. Next year i have several plans, but as we
all know the Lord's will be done. Even Paul said i am going over to this place to do this
and to do that, but we know that there were times when the Holy Spirit forbade him to
go at that time. Instead he was guided somewhere else. I may say i am going to do this
and to do that but if the Holy Spirit guides me to do something else that i will do. May
God's grace be upon all of those who fear Him!!

A new friend of mine, Eddie, left Sanford, N.C. for three days to carry the cross with
me. Here is a picture of him when he felt an immense peace overwhelm him after about
